Jungle Queen (Stichopthalma uemurai) Butterfly Insect Specimen Frame

The Jungle Queen (Stichophthalma uemurai) are large butterflies of the family Nymphalidae found in India, China, and Southeast Asia. They are slow fliers and prefer to stick to the shaded understories of dense bamboo forests.

These butterflies are known for their ventral eyespots, which are utilized as a defense mechanism against predators! Even more, their undersides are colored to mimic dead leaves so that they can blend in with the forest floor.

This specimen is mounted in a 5"x7" white frame that has an opening in the back for wall hanging. The specimen is a real preserved butterfly professionally prepared and mounted by myself.
