The figeater beetle (Cotinus mutabilis), also called the green fruit beetle or fig beetle, is a species of scarab beetle in the family Scarabaeidae, nested in the subfamily Cetoniidae. This subfamily is comprised of the flower chafers, so named because these species typically feed on flower pollen, nectar, or petals.

The figeater beetle is native to the southwestern United States, Mexico, and northern parts of South America. Their natural diet includes cactus fruits and tree sap, though as their range has expanded they are often found feeding on soft-bodied fruits grown in gardens and orchards, including peaches, grapes, pears, and of course, figs!
