The Belus Swallowtail (Battus belus) is a large butterfly in the family Papilionidae that is native to parts of Central and South America. This species is known for it's beautiful blue-green metallic shine. Belus swallowtails are sexually dimorphic, meaning the males and females do not look the same! This specimen is male, characterized by his bright off-white abdomen. The females have similar wing soloration, but lack the same bright abdomen.

This specimen is mounted in a 5"x7" white frame with a hole in the back for wall hanging. The specimen is a real preserved butterfly professionally prepared and mounted by myself.
