Giant Blue Morpho (Morpho didius) Butterfly Insect Specimen Frame
The giant blue morpho (Morpho didius) is perhaps one of the most iconic butterflies out there, recognized by their vibrant and dramatic electric blue coloration! They are a species of Nymphalid butterfly native to many parts of South America. Their amazing iridescent blue color is actually not pigment, but rather structural coloration. This effect is created by microscopic scales on their butterflies wings that are built in a way that reflects light so that the butterfly appears bright blue!
This specimen is mounted in a black 8"x8" frame. It includes a hook on the back for wall mounting. The specimen is a real preserved butterfly professionally prepared and mounted by myself.
